The PMW-EX3 combines a state-of-the-art, non-linear XDCAM workflow with simply the best HD quality yet seen in a semi-shoulder camcorder. It is also the first semi-shoulder camcorder to carry the legendary CineAlta 24P brand with multiple frame rate recording capability such as 59.94i, 50i, and native 23.98P, as well being 1080i/720P switchable.
There is also a choice of a 35Mb/s High Quality mode or a 25Mb/s, HDV 1080i compatible mode. To take advantage of this high performance recording capability, the PMW-EX3 uses the same imaging system as the PMW-EX1, consisting of three ½-inch type CMOS sensors, each with an effective pixel count of 1920x1080. In addition, there's a purpose-built interchangeable Fujinon Professional HD ½-inch 14x lens and a unique dual focus ring mechanism. Included in the package is a ½-inch lens adaptor to allow use of other ½-inch lenses, plus the ability to use other optional lens adaptors for 2/3rd-inch, cinema-style and digital SLR lenses.
To maximise recording time, the PMW-EX3 has two memory card slots which means with a pair of 16 GB SxS PRO memory cards, it can record up to 140 minutes of HD footage.
A wide variety of accessories are also available, including a USB Reader/Writer, a wide-conversion lens, battery and charger.

The EX3 Heavy Duty Base Plate system makes a rock-solid connection to your fluid head. Designed to be a professional replacement to the threaded 1/4-20 stock mount, this solid plate fastens to the base of the camera at 3 points. Use a v-wedge toe piece for the Sony VCT-U14, or any quick-release camera plate with 1/4"-20 or 3/8" threads to mount the camera solidly to a fluid head.

The Fujinon ACM-21 is a lens adapter for the 1/2" CMOS chip PMW-EX3 camcorder. This adapter allows the 1/2" chip camera to utilize high quality 2/3" Fujinon lenses using the B-Mount.

• Broadcast Lenses
Broadcast lenses used with 2/3" HD cameras feature optics and image depth that is at a much higher quality than lenses designed for 1/2" camcorders. The upgrade in lens quality will upgrade the image to levels unprecedented in the 1/2" chip realm.
1/2” to 2/3” Lens Adapter
The Canon LO-32BMT adapter allows you to mount a 2/3" B4 bayonet lens onto any Sony 1/2" proprietary mount camera such as the new XDCAM HD series, PDW-F330/F350 while not affecting the optical quality of the lens. It is important to consider the following information when using a 2/3" lens with a LO-32BMT adapter mounted to a 1/2" camera:

◦The images produced will appear visually more telephoto by a factor of 1.38x.

◦The actual F-Number of a lens does not change when mounted on a different format size camera. (If the lens is F1.9 in the 2/3 "format, the lens is also F1.9 in the 1/2" format.)

◦The Focal Length and F-Stop markings on the 2/3” lens are correct in either format.

◦It is highly recommended that HDTV lenses always be employed on HDTV cameras.

Focal Length:
When using a 2/3” lens with a LO-32BMT adapter mounted to a 1/2” camera, the actual focal length of the lens does not change. However, the angle of view associated with that focal length changes. In this case, the lens will visually be more telephoto, by a factor of 1.38x. As an example, the 2/3” KJ20x8.5B HDTV lens (58.90 angle of view at 8.5mm when mounted on a 2/3” camera) will visually appear to have a 44.60 angle of view, that equates to an equivalent focal length of 11.7mm (8.5mm x 1.38 = 11.7mm)
1/2” to Nikon Lens Adapter
Simply turn the blue ring to adjust aperture. This adaptor incorporates a built in control ring allowing you to visually adjust lens aperture.(Patent pending)
Although designed for G series lenses, this adaptor is compatible with ALL Nikon lenses including DX series.

A few people have asked, why didn't we use a right angle 10 pin connector on our LANC Adapter. The reason is, on some cameras, if you plug in a right angle 10 pin connector, it will cover some of the buttons/function switches on the video camera.

Zacuto's DOF Sony EX3 Foam will fit the Sony EX3 with any of our DOF kits fully assembled. It fits into a Storm Case IM-2975 which is not included.
The Zacuto DOF Sony EX3 Foam will fit the Sony EX3 camera with any of our DOF kits fully assembled; the Docu, Cine, Indie, Filmmaker or Feature. You can go from the case to the tripod to handheld to the case in seconds. This case also holds additional camera batteries, matte box filters, recording cards, monitor, (2) 90 watt batteries with hotswap, and a dual charger for studio batteries.
Four prime lenses can also fit in the lower level of the case as well. Foam plugs are included so you would take out a foam plug, insert lens and recover with the foam plug. Lenses in lower lever are fully protected. The hard case is available for purchase and may be selected below.

1/2” to Nikon Lens Adapter
Extremely high in quality. The Adaptimax Plus is CNC milled from high grade aluminium, before being anodised. It is then fitted out with an extremely hard wearing brass Nikon mount which is then chrome plated for even longer durability. Unlike our rivals who use an aluminium mount which quickly shows signs of wear, our brass bayonet is built to last.
The Adaptimax Plus is designed for all Nikon lenses, including the DX and G series of Nikon lenses which do not have an external aperture ring. It has a specially designed built in thumbscrew which can open and close the shutter of DX and G glass lenses.
Take a look at the mounting end of one of these DX or G lenses and you will see a small lever which opens and closes the shutter of the lens. Our elegantly designed thumbscrew opens and closes this lever so you can adjust the exposure easily by the eye.
The Adaptimax Plus gives a magnification factor of X5.4, which makes these adaptors perfect for shooting wildlife or macro. You can now get the shots that are impossible with the stock Sony PMW-EX3 lens. Fit on a 80-200 2.8, or 300mm F4 Nikon on the camera and the results will astound you.
All Sony PMW-EX3 owners will want an Adaptimax or Adaptimax Plus in their kit bag, Now you can get that telephoto or macro shot that is currently impossible with the stock PMW-EX3 lens for a remarkably low price.
