Summary of Discovery’s acquisition requirements:

Sony XDCAM HD (35 mbps)

Sony HDCAM SR

Panasonic DVC PRO 100mb (HD)

HDV at 1080i (with restrictions)

HVX-200 DVC PRO HD 100 (with HDV restrictions)

720P material is acceptable, only with a pre-approved post production path and budget.

Delivered Master must be at 1080 resolution.

Footage may not be converted from 1080i to 720P for post and converted back to 1080i for mastering.

We cannot allow multiple resolution changes on material.

Summary of Astral’s acquisition requirements:

PRODUCTION FORMAT – HIGH DEFINITION

1.The production must be done with a High Definition digital video camera and/or recorded on a High Definition digital video tape recorder.

SHOOTING FORMAT – HIGH DEFINITION

Sony HDCAM

Sony XDCAM HD (35mbps only)

Panasonic DVCPRO HD 100

HDV (must be pre-approved)

2.Shooting in 24p is allowed, but the delivered master must be in 1080i/59.94 resolution.

3.Shooting in 720p is allowed, with the following restrictions:

•720p material is acceptable but the delivered master must be in 1080i/59.94 resolution.

•Footage may not be converted from 1080i to 720P for post and converted back to 1080i for mastering.

4.HDV material in a High Definition production must be pre-approved.

5.A High Definition production may contain Standard Definition archives with the following restrictions:

•No more than 25% of up-converted Standard Definition archives.
